Come and make your voice heard!
The Newtown Community and Recreation Association (NCRA) is a charity formed on 1st December 1999. The key achievement of the charity was to secure the purchase of this piece of land adjacent to Newtown School:
Once this land had been purchased by the NCRA, it was then converted into four distinct areas:
(1) The car park
(2) The playground
(3) The extension to the school playing field
(4) The nature area
The NCRA is a registered charity and we rely almost entirely on donations to fund the maintenance of these areas and also the goodwill and support of parents, friends and the local community.
The NCRA committee have been extremely busy over the summer in improving the facilities, including installing new gate posts (kindly donated J C Fencing Ltd) and new light bollard protection barriers. We have a lot of activities planned this year to continue to improve the facilities for all users, including replacing all the white and yellow lining in the carpark, looking at the options of new surfaces for the playground and also replacement fencing. Looking further ahead, if we can secure the necessary funding there may be an option to convert the nature area to an extension to the car park; so watch this space!
We will shortly be offering a range of ways for you to support the NCRA, including a relaunched 100 club and supporters car stickers.
If you would like to get involved in any way to help maintain these wonderful facilities do please get in contact at firstname.lastname@example.org or speak to any of the committee. We are all very approachable!
